Dear readers, those of you on Twitter might have seen, been followed, unfollowed and followed again by accounts claiming to be a County “Fan App”. There are 18 of them, one for each first class county. They look almost official, claiming that “[County name] Fan App is the best way to keep up to date with the club. Coming soon for iOS & Android!” but they were all created by a company called Spontly.
Did you know these “Fan App” sites have been ripping off content from sites belonging to your county club, other county club sites, the BBC and photographers? Here’s some proof:

Despite doing nothing about the booing Moeen Ali received in recent international games, the Exceptionally Clueless Buffoons have been revealed as charging Yorkshire captain Andrew Gale with racism against Lancashire’s South African batsman Ashwell Prince.
Did Gale let rip with an outburst worthy of a UKIPper?
Did he use the N-word? The S-word? The C-word? The M-word?
Did he make certain gestures or references to certain body parts?
Did he refer to a certain land made famous by Alan Clark and then by Godfrey Bloom?
Did he let rip with a Gene Hunt special?
Did he throw a piece of fruit? (If none of these make any sense get onto Google).
Any or all of the above would deserve a guilty verdict. But no, Andrew Gale did not do any of these things.

Yorkshire’s relegation from Division 1 of the County Championship has met with a stinging, scathing response from executive chairman Colin Graves. Given that he’s underwriting the club’s £20 million debt he’s probably justified in being somewhat critical of his club’s 1st XI performances this season.
From what Yates knows of Yorkshire folk, there will be plenty of them wanting to have their say about the 1st XI’s performance too. And you can bet that they won’t be holding back in their criticism either.
One thing that’s always irritated Yates is the saying “We don’t deserve to be in the [whatever division is lower than the one a relegation threatened team is facing] division.”
